EVENT DIRECTORS WRAP
TO ALL WHO SUPPORTED "STADIUM DRIFT SA"
TAILEM BEND SAT AUG 28

Last friday afternoon at around 4pm when Tim & i were out at a very cold, gloomy & windy Tailen Bent Motorsport Park we began to wonder if the 2 mths of planning & the big workload & big expense was worth it, by the time we had finished bashing in around 60 posts we really did have doubt in our own judgement, the venue had not been used for over 30 years for a public event, would ppl know where it was, did the SA public want drift, sunday we were back there at about 6.30am setting up under improving skies, then at around 7.30am we looked up & saw the que of competitors keen to get into the STADIUM DRIFT "formula for fun" spectator numbers were also good for a first time event which we had kept fairly low key with promotion until we had run the first event
A good drivers briefing was followed by all PRO cars on track for the first session, by 10.30am our hard working crew most of who had come down from QLD were satisfied we had done the right thing in giving it a shot.

COMPETITORS
I must thank all competitors for their support & confidence in giving our system a go, it was a pleasure working with you all the co-operation from all drivers was excellent, overall the presentation was good & the show provided by the PRO & L2 drivers was everything we had hoped for, i believe the whole package will only get stronger from here, there was just a couple of "loose cannons" we need to talk to further, only 2 were warned on the day so all in all it worked very well. (also guys no more batteries held in with zip ties please)

OFFICIALS
Being our 1st event in SA for almost 3yrs we had to start from fresh with some new local officials & helpers so thanks to Tristan & Brendan for their awesome support & work on the day, several local flaggies & the local ambo & firies also provided good support,as did the DJ & PA guys as always the RACELINE crew that came down from QLD worked hard all weekend, also must thank Jenna for her assistance, Simon & Stewy in helping me get things sorted on the test day & track set up & Josh Young, one of our top PRO TOUR drivers who helped to run the day, also thanks to JO from TBMSP for her loyalty & support

SPONSORS
Thanks to the sponsors & supporters
Dave from MAD AUTOMOTIVE, SLEEKA SPARES, Mark & Julie Simpson for donating the L2 & STREET trophies
WINNERS
Congrats to James Mardle (PRO), Davey Clarke(L2) & David Smith (STREET)
FINALLY
RACELINE run STADIUM DRIFT events week in & week out & walking into a venue that had not been used for soo many years was always going to be a tough call & have some teething issues,(although i was surprised there so few) we are well aware of these & know what is required to overcome them eg pit PA, pit toilet, soggy ground caused some last min changes etc, more officials, move the pits a bit closer to the start & use both sides of the drag strip, ALL of these things are being addressed & you will notice changes for the next event the ppl at TBMSP are also keen for some upgrades. The feedback from competitors & spectators has been awesome with many coming from Vic & Mt Gambier etc.
We look forward to returning in oct

Amazing finals battle in pro with Grant Scott Really taking it to the big boys in his 1600cc supercharged KE70.

RACELINE STADIUM DRIFT is now back in Sth Aust at Tailem Bend with a "DAY OF DRIFT" on Sat Aug 28th

RACELINE / STADIUM DRIFT BACK IN SA
"DAY of DRIFT" -- SOUTH AUST-----SAT AUG 28
MOTORSPORTS PARK----TAILEM BEND
Our objective is to establish 3 STADIUM DRIFT catagories in SA along the same lines as Qld, that is a PRO catagory a Level 2 catagory + a "STREET LEGAL" catagory (note i use the term street legal loosely) its really a newbie class/ feeder catagory to give new guys a starting point, some drivers will know which catagory they fit however if need be we can seed them on the day.
The first event will be run on sat Aug 28, gates will open at 9am with the first car due on track at 10am, the format will be battles, tandems, solo & tandem runs for newbies until midday, then we will run some sponsor/passenger laps followed by a (fun) comp for our 3 catagories with trophies for the winners. The day will finish with a 1 hr expression session. Entry forms & posters for this are now being prepared.
The plan for this first event is to give all the drivers a chance to see how we operate as well as get heaps of laps on this new track & also try out a couple of different track layouts.
If all gels at the first event we will run a further 2 full comps at this venue prior to dec.
These comps would be a duplicate of our PRO TOUR events
FOR EVENT ENTRIES & INFO PLEASE email racelinepromo@yahoo.com (please send your postal address & mob no.)

It looks like STADIUM DRIFT will finally get moving forward in SA after 2 1/2 yrs of frustration with other venues, so its now all positive, all we need for these fun events is the drivers support.

The opinion of all who attended rd1 & Tamworth was it was prol 1 of our best shows to date , however last nites rd2, with 46 cars entered, was without doubt the toughest most competitive event we have seen, with a good responsive crowd, great atmosphere & finals which were tough to call & still the driving was hard & fast but clean & fair with battle after battle entertaining & super close.

PRO FINAL---With a top 4 of Josh B, "Huge Euge", Matt OB, & Adam Barnes we were in for a hell of a show & they didnt let us down, super close battles which saw a very narrow win go to Josh B from Huge, good to see Boettcher get his first win
While the PRO class is the main attraction the L2 SERIES drivers put on a show which they can be proud of, good work guys, the L2 final was awesome with Scott Maiden & Guy Wuoti giving 110% in their thrilling final runs which was appreciated by the crowd.
Hard luck award of the event must go to the very competitive Josh Young in the superb "new look" chaser which snapped a tailshaft in his first run of the comp, he was shattered & deserved better than that after all the hard work over the past couple of weeks, also Jesse Hinze "blowing" another engine early in the day.
Huge thanks to all officials & competitors
