With gates opening at 2pm and the action firing up at 3.30, Raceline has delivered yet again.

Kicking off Australia Day celebrations, these talented drivers came out to compete in the sport they love, for the chance to be number one.

The Amateur action started at 3.30 with nine racers entered. Starting off with one practice lap and then four judging, these boys got the crowd warmed up for the Pro's. The Amateur Action then wound up with the top four of the Amatuers being announced as Ben Hines, James Grady, Brenton Lambert and Troy Moffatt.

Our amazing demons of drift showcased their true Aussie colours by attaching Aussie flags to their cars. The sight of many an Australian flag either whipping in the wind or getting blown off from an excessive amount of speed, excited the already cheering crowd.

Getting some nice lines from Ryan 'Slide' Cummings in the first round of the Pro's, along with Tim Ottoway swinging from left to right to get in some crazy angles, these drivers ensured plenty of fun was had by all. These two fantastic drivers made it in to the top five of the Pro's together with Robbie Mounfield, Josh Young and Adam Gibbs.

Our judges for the day - Ben, Pete and Kiwi Tim - said that when it came to judging the drifting, they were interested in three categories. These being, Speed, Angle of Line and Apex. Plus, they were also looking for overall consistency.

Now these judges aren't just any regular joe off the streets, these guys have been in this industry for a while.

Kiwi Tim has raced in the Pro's many a time at previous Stadium Drifts. Pete has in the past done judging for Drift Australia and Stadium Drift and is now managing the drift side of Powercruise Australia wide. Ben has been involved with previous Pro Nationals and also Drift Australia.

If anyone knows drifting, it's these guys!

The crowd was left holding their breath, waiting for the smoke from the burnouts to clear after some crazy driving in the tandem wars caused a couple of the drivers to come close to crashing.

Meanwhile, Tony Harrison proved to be a major crowd pleaser by revving it up on the tarmac. Coming out in the first heats, red and blue smoke billowed out from behind Tony's speed machine to create the purple smoke effect we saw leaving the crowd roaring their approval.

Capping of the night with presentations and thanks, the event slowly ended and the crowd drifted off by 9.30pm.
